The bookcase is really nice. However, when purchasing please don't buy from Home Living who Amazon utilizes as a 3rd party. I ordered the bookcase and the matching desk at the same time though Amazon. I found out later that the desk came through Amazon and the bookcase through Home Living even though I ordered everything directly through the Amazon website. I placed the order on 10/17/13. I received an email on 10/21/13 that the bookcase was shipped and would arrive on 10/28/13. On 10/28/13 it never arrived. I received an email that evening from Home Living that read " Thank you for ordering with Home and Living via Amazon.com. We regret to inform you that we have unfortunately completely sold out of the Nicholas Bookcase in Two Tone Finish by Coaster Furniture you purchased. We sincerely regret this inconvenience, and truly regret that this discrepancy in stock availability occurred. We update our inventory daily however there is usually a 24 hour processing period for these updates to take effect. We are always trying to improve our systems in order to avoid such occurrences. As a result of this, your order has been canceled and a full refund has been issued. You will receive an email receipt from Amazon.com shortly. Please allow 3-5 business days for your refund to post onto your account. we bought this bed couple months ago..very nice bed..!!! my daughter is 6 and this bed is actually huge for her..but it is good so it going to serve a purpose for some time..:)..the bed is very sturdy... and my husband (not the small guy) had a nap on it too.and was comfortable..!!! how ever the price is on amazon is too high..!! I got it on walmart.com for 300$ less..!!!!!!!!!..so don't overpay..!!!!! to put together it took like 5-6 hours..me and my husband did it together..when you are ready to assemble make sure to start putting together on the the place where this bed going to be..because it's hard to move..very heavy..drawers are very nice..pretty deep and the desk not too small either..the whole bed is actually much bigger that it seems on the picture..very nice buy for 400$..!!!! and get a free shipping to the store...!! so d research before you buy it..:))
