The Childcraft construction paper holder was delivered already assembled and ready to use. The shelfs have wood slats, not cardboard as many others do which made for the sturdiness that I desired. Previously I had ordered a heavier cardboard holder and it was torn up by the end of the school year. This one should last for a lifetime! It was well worth the additional cost. :-)
