I realize this is not a $2,000 cuckoo, but it was still a considerable amount of money, and while the woodwork for the clock is awesome, the assembly and QC is not what you would expect from a product being touted as hand crafted. The actual dial face was glued on skewed, so that the 12 is slightly too far right, and the 6 is slightly too far left. The deer are eating grass, but the grass was only half glued on. The other half fell off immediately. When i looked at it to see where it came off, there wasn't any actual glue residue on the grass. It must have just been pushed in without regard to having it stay attached. And worse, the cuckcoo wasn't actually cockooing till 10 mins past the hour. It was a straight forward fix. I had to play with the dial in the middle of the hands turning one way then the other till i got it dialed in just right on the top of the hour, but come on. How does a cuckoo clock leave the factory with the cuckoo not going off till 10 mins late? Isn't that like the most important part of a cuckoo clock? The clock was a gift for my wife and she loves it, and that was the most important part. But since i'm the one who bought it and knows what i paid for it, i will always have these minor annoyances in my head everytime i look at it. To sum up: beautiful craftsmanship, very sloppy assembly.
