I bought one of these 2 years ago for my bookstore to keep the dust down. The guy who services our heating and AC units was telling me that due to the dust levels, our 6 month filters would have to be changed every 3 months. Ive run this unit at least 10 hours a day since then. Four days a week it is on for the full 24 hours, the other 3 it gets turned off when the store closes. Two years later, I'm buying another one for my store and taking the first one to my house. The last time our AC service guy came in, he said the filters looked brand new and we would switch to changing the 6 month filters once per year. And as far as health benefits are concerned, I used to be the kind of person who got the flu twice a year like clockwork, once in the fall, once in the spring. At a bookstore, there's a lot of kids running around, so you can pretty much plan on the exposure to it. I havent gotten so much as a runny nose in the last 2 years. Whether thats because of this or just chance, who knows for sure? Anyway, like I said, I'm taking this one to my house and buying a new one for the store today. This thing is great.
