It's fairly solid given that it's made of particle board, although the top load is only 40 pounds. It was relatively easy to put together even though some incredibly awkward positions are required for some of the screws. The directions are decent and it only took a few hours to assemble the dresser. It's also shorter than I was expecting, but that's my own fault for not reading the dimensions closely enough.
