Upon opening the box to set this bed up we discovered the wood is unfinished. So, the entire bed frame/headboard/footboard all need stained and lacquered. That is going to be a multiple day job, so we will have to sleep on mattress on the floor until it can be completed. No where on the product description is it written that the wood is unfinished. The bed is solid though.
